Nitro is a volunteer-run non-profit that has been at the center of AI education in Romania since 2022. We believe every student deserves access to quality AI education — from free introductory workshops to national olympiads and international competitions.
Competitions
We founded the Romanian Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence, manage the national selection and represent Romania at international olympiads, sharing expertise and gaining global experience. In 2026, we organize the inaugural Central European Olympiad in AI in Cluj-Napoca — with participants from more than 22 countries already confirmed.
Hackathon & Workshops
Every spring we run the Nitro NLP Hackathon alongside a free workshop series on practical skills in machine learning, NLP, deep learning, and programming — taught by industry professionals and university lecturers. All recordings are published on YouTube so anyone can learn at their own pace.
Nitro AI Judge
We built and maintain Nitro AI Judge, the open-source competitive AI platform used for all stages of ROAI and CEOAI. It combines competition hosting with a permanent public task archive, and is in active discussions for adoption by other countries' national selections.
Volunteer Programme
Our events are run entirely by students and recent graduates. Through collaboration with schools, universities, and industry partners, we give young people real experience in software engineering, design, and content — while contributing to open-source tools used in real competitions.
